6 Years Imprisonment, 5 Years Exile and Lifetime Prohibition

Ahmad Zeid Abadi, journalist and secretary of Advar Tahkim Vahdat (Iran’s Alumni Organization), has been condemned to 6 years imprisonment, 5 years exile and lifetime prohibition from social and political activities. Along with shifting Zeid Abadi to the court this morning, the sentence of 6 years imprisonment, 5 years exile to Gonabad and lifetime prohibition from social and political activities has been declared to him. The amount of needed bail has increased from 250 million Tomans to 500 million Tomans and his family ought to provide this new amount. On Mehr 12th a 250 million Tomans bail was issued for this journalist and his family submitted it to the court but the Attorney General didnt let him to be released. Ahmad Zeid Abadi’s lawyers have objected this sentence and hope that he become released from the prison temporarily by providing this new bail.
